Boxing Day chores

Late rise because it is Boxing Day but we have a few things to do!

Nothing much happens today … it is almost like a full stop to all the Christmas happenings, for us to take a deep breath before we start the countdown to the New Year.

So while the farm is quiet, we thought we should check in on the animals and ward off any intruders!

That’s why the orange Equafleeces make us look rather “official” … that’s what Mum said to convince us to wear them.

C’mon George! Let’s go on our rounds.
Do you see anything George? Any intruders?
Hi Pygmies! Are you feeding alright?
They’re called Butch and Sundance – Mum thought it was Cassidy. LOL!
Oy! Chickens! How is the egg-laying? Need some more for breakfast tomorrow!
Hey! Rather Hay! Hay!
I hear something coming!
Another horse!
All safely at a distance, if I may add! Phew!
Nobody seems to acknowledge our presence … too busy chomping away!
Our last check-in post – the larder! This is where some hooman could raid the entire place!
This is serious – its full of chocolates, biscuits, groceries and even Fox shampoo for accidents!

But all seem to be in order – now let’s take the long walk back to our cabin for our Boxing Day rest.

Oh look! There’s the pooch we have heard barking in the next cabin!
Hello Woody!

Back at The Rancher, we went back to bed!

Pooped! This farm job is very strenuous!

Today is a holiday for most people in the UK but to all those who has to keep things running (the NHS staff, the carers, the Firemen, the police, etc, etc, etc.) – we say thank you.

May’s comment: For our non-British readers – “The name comes from a time when the rich used to box up gifts to give to the poor. Boxing Day was traditionally a day off for servants, and the day when they received a special Christmas box from their masters. The servants would also go home on Boxing Day to give Christmas boxes to their families.” – CBBC

On that note, think I (their servant) will take a break too! Happy Boxing Day!

Time for snuggles with my pooches.
