Patisserie/Cake Shops/Gelateria

One of the things I love doing after a walk in the park is to treat myself to a piece of cake, or on a hot summer’s day – some gelato or ice-cream.  So here are a few we frequent after walks in the parks …

Dri Dri Gelato – the happy world of gelato! Slurp is Dri Dri’s side-kick and food guru that helps sniff out the best ingredients! One of Darcy’s favourite places – whenever we go in that direction, she heads off into the shop. Chelsea Farmers Market, 125 Sydney St, London SW3 6NR

Hummingbird Bakery – There are at least three branches of this cupcake, American style bakery. At the Chelsea branch, we are allowed to go inside with the dogs, and depending on the manager on duty, the dogs can stay inside while you sit and indulge. It changes all the time. If not, there are outside tables. That is my red velvet cupcake stop! 47 Old Brompton Rd, London SW7 3JP

Konditor & Cook – A little further away from us in Borough Market is a buzzy little cafe serving cakes, pastries and gourmet snacks from independent baker. 10 Stoney St, London SE1 9AD

Maitre Choux – Eclairs, choux, chouquettes baked fresh every morning by three Michelin Star pastry chef Joakim Prat. Stop to look at the amazing array of beautiful choux or stop and have coffee or tea and indulge in these delicious pastries. 15 Harrington Rd, London SW7 3ESimg_2519-2

Oree – bringing a taste of the boulangeries and patisseries of rural France to London, Orée offers freshly baked viennoiserie, artisan bread and fine patisserie, alongside a selection of breakfast dishes, salads and coffees, to eat-in, or takeaway. 277 Fulham Rd, London SW10 9NY

Peggy Porschen – Pretty in pink is how we describe this chic bakery featuring creative cakes and sweet treats which serves coffee, tea and champagne! 116 Ebury St, Belgravia, London SW1W 9QQimg_1295-580x435

Snowflakes – handcrafted and lovingly made gelato using locally sourced ingredients, then mixing them up with the love and passion by Italian chefs using traditional methods. There are at least five outlets but the one we’ve been to is by the South Kensington tube station – and we were warmly welcomed in! 42-44 Thurloe Street, London SW7 2LT
