Last day of the year

On this last day of the year, we had a quiet day.

We managed to find time to meet up again with Mum’s friend, Nicola to meet the puppies.

Buttercup
Bluebelle
Both 11 weeks old! We met their mum Lola the other day.

Today’s walk took us to White Sheet Down

Standing on the Tumulus at White Sheet Down
Surveying the land …

Ahhhh yes! I must find the trig point. We walked up the ridge …

And I found the trig, the third in three days. So now I have completed a triangle.

“In the United Kingdom, trig points are typically concrete pillars, and were erected by the Ordnance Survey. The process of placing trig points on top of prominent hills and mountains began in 1935 to assist in the accurate retriangulation of Great Britain.” Wikipedia

Another beautiful walk, this time in Wiltshire …

I think Mum likes it out here.

May’s comment: And so we come to the end of an eventful year – spending the day in a quiet way with friends and walks in the country with our pooches.

See next blog posting for a reflection on the year past.
