A day of reflection, a day of hope

It’s funny isn’t it? From one day we look back and reflect and on the next, we are full of hope. Hope that in the coming days and months that there will be peace, there will be joy, there will be love in our lives.

At the end of the year, Mummy likes to take us to a coastal place for our beach walk on New Year’s Eve and whenever we can at daybreak on New Year’s Day.This year we are in Mawgan Porth in Cornwall.  We love running on the beach.  More than that we are happy just because we are together as we start another calendar year.

May’s comment:  New Year’s Eve is often a time for reflection – of the year past. A lot can happen in 365 days.  Some years, it seems, we are only too happy to leave it behind us.  But it wasn’t all terrible.  Aside from headlines that rocked the world this past year, there were also many personal triumphs and joys. For those, we are thankful.

I try to make it our tradition to walk on the beach every first of the year.  Not only is it a joy to see Darcy and George run so freely and happily.I love listening to the sound of crashing waves whilst looking out at the vast expanse of water. For me, it is cleansing. To be washed, to be cleansed, to start again.

And each new year is like the horizon – What lies ahead for all of us?

We all hope for better things – and so we wish each other a “happy” new year. May it be just so. May your 2017 be exceptional.

Thank you to all of you who have followed our adventures this past year or years. There’s much to look forward to and we hope to be able to share our stories with you.

With all our love, May, Darcy and George xxx

Thank you for sharing! We were fortunate to drive our two cockapoos to the Outer Banks of North Carolina in September. Neither had ever seen the beach or the ocean, and it was a wonderful two weeks. I am truly thankful for the experience for them, and the memories for us. Happy New Year to you and yours 🙂

Your blogs and adventures make us smile, laugh out load and sometimes cry; but whatever the emotion evoked, it is always real and we can relate to what you say and see something in us from your beautiful writing. You have inspired me to get out and about more with Lola, who isn’t the most well behaved cockapoo in the world, but is kind, sweet and funny and can make the grumpiest of souls smile on a grey day. We wish you all a happy and joyful 2017. With love from Samantha and Lola x
