Our Thanksgiving Meet – this Sunday

Don’t worry – you don’t have to wear a panty over your head for our next Hyde Park Doodle Meet.  We’re only “dressing up”

because this coming Thursday is Thanksgiving in America.  And though it is an American holiday, it is one that we like to remember, especially at this time of year when giving is so prevalent. And just as we did last year, we chose a dog charity to give back.  This year, we have chosen a charity close to us – DOTS London.
Every day when we go about our ways in London, we see the homeless on the streets and in many cases, man’s best friend is right by their side.  It had never occurred to me that those dogs never get to go to the vet, they never get an annual check-up and they sit through all weather conditions with their best friend.  Sometimes they go hungry.
We will be selling raffle tickets at £5 a piece to help raise money for this charity.  I will have my raffle book with me on Sunday and you can buy as many as you wish!  The raffle tickets will give you a chance to win one of the many special and meaningful prizes we have managed to procure. Here are just six of them …
– Dog portrait drawing by Camilla Rossi – this is one she of George– A work on paper, dog portrait by Sara Abbott (she had done one for Darcy and one for George)
– A dog training session by the House of Mutt School (some of you have met Ed at our last meet)
– A Doggy Retreat Day at Paws for Thought in Radlett (agility session, grooming, doggy yoga and canine massage)
– A flower box arrangement by Martine of Balcombe Window Box
A Christmas Hamper from Lily’s Kitchen.
We hope you will join our effort to raise money for those who will not have much this coming holiday season.
Looking forward to seeing all of you on Sunday!
May’s comment: We look forward to seeing you next Sunday, the 26th November. Same time (11.00am), same place – behind the Serpentine Gallery.
Slow in thinking and couldn’t find anything on Amazon that would come quick enough for the  featured photo. So put a panty over Darcy as a bonnet and George’s fedora turned into a Pilgrim’s hat! LOL!
We hope you will help us raise money for DOTS – a very worthy charity.
