Meet the new Telly Tubby!

IMG_8439

I stood on the weighing machine at the vet’s and Mummy gasped!!! 7.2kg!!!

She knew I had put on weight but that was a lot!!!!

When I first weighed in at the vet four years ago, I was 5kg. Since then I have weighed in at 5.5kg and then hovered at about 6kg. And now I am a whopping 7.2kg! That means since moving to London, I have increased my weight by 40%!That’s what city living does to you.

And I have a new nickname – Tubby George! No more dinky-winky. I am no longer an ink blot but a black blotch! Look – even the leaf just got a lot smaller.

I am tubby and I know it. Full and happy!

Maybe I’ll be the fifth Telly Tubby! And my name will be Bloppy!

Gotta watch it – anything over 8kg, I won’t be flying in cabin any more!

May’s comment: When George was getting sick every morning in the early part of this year, after having tried bedtime biscuits, later feeding, changed his food, etc, etc., I finally increased his food portion from 100g. of Honey’s raw to 125g. – and the sick stopped immediately! Well, I guess he needed more food to keep the acid down.  He had been at 100g for the last three and a half years – so why the sudden need for more food? Ever mysterious George.

Before long, I noticed he was starting to gain weight. I could tell he was becoming more padded than before – his ribs were not obvious to the touch. But it was a shocker to find out he had put on a whole 1.2 kg!!! What to do? Sick dog or a tubby dog?

Also interestingly, all of this past week, he wasn’t interested in his breakfast. I had to urge him to eat. Maybe he wasn’t hungry. That 125g was too much for him. Puzzling.

Vet suggested reducing the amount of food and to give him some semi-skimmed milk before bedtime to stop the acid reflux. Here we go again! Oh George! Life was a lot easier before you came along – I definitely slept more soundly.

  1. Maybe it’s all those dog friendly restaurants!?
I would think all the walking you do all over London would keep the weight off. Never mind George, we love you anyway!???

  2. I think George looks handsome and gorgeous, hope it wasn’t the treats he had at Stanley’s !!

    1. Ah! Now we know why!!! ??? No, I think I have overfed him so much that he doesn’t want breakfast a couple of days!

  3. I think they are both just perfect the way they are. Beautiful fur babies. And they have a life that makes a lot of people jealous. Including me❤️
