Mummy knew of a cockapoo who lives in Derbyshire so she had made contact for us to meet up whilst we were there. It’s Lottie and her mummy Suzy. But I didn’t know about it, so when Lottie turned up at the front hall of The Peacock, I was being territorial! I barked at her and wasn’t very welcoming. Mummy had to calm me down.
Eventually we got into the car and we drove to Chatsworth House for a walk.
We were not supposed to be off lead but since the fields were so wide and not so many people around, well, we were let lose!
Lottie and I ran and ran and ran –
… me barking at her and after her.
I was told I am very boisterous but I can’t help it. Sometimes I am annoyed, sometimes it’s because I am saying – let’s play, come on, run!
Saying – no, this way, Lottie!
Or sometimes I am saying – hey! You’re too fast – come back!!!!
We sniffed around …
And did a bit of rolling on the grass –
Of course it was then Mummy’s turn to holler! Oh, Lottie, what did you get on your ear?
We were sufficiently knackered as we took a rest –
And by then I got used to having Lottie around.
After our exhausting run, we went to The Stables for some refreshments –
There we ran into two other cockapoos – Alfie and Ollie.
And then lo and behold, there was Harvey, a cavapoo!
But it was soon time for us to get back on the train to London. Suzy and Lottie drove us to Chesterfield station where we said goodbye. Little Lottie’s pretty face looking at us quizzingly from behind.
I don’t know how Lottie felt but I was knackered! I hardly moved from the time we sat down to wait for our train and on the whole train hide back to London.
May’s comment: We “met” Suzy and Lottie on one of our Facebook pages. When we knew we were going up north, we got in touch. So lovely to have met them. Lottie (10 months) and Darcy (3 1/2 years) look amazingly similar – pretty little faces.
