We were at the library in The Kennel Club (tell you more later) going through shelves and shelves of books about dogs.
But the pile of books that interested us most were the children’s books 
In that pile, Camilla showed Mummy a book she thought that would be “educational” on one of the great mysteries of our doggy habits.
We read “The Great Dog Bottom Swap” and Mummy laughed out loud – but more importantly, she now totally gets why we sniff each other’s bottoms whenever we meet.

Now Mummy sees this ritual with a very different perspective!

The Great Dog Bottom Swap By Peter Bently tells the story of the Dogs’ Summer Ball. It’s so high class that each dog must remove their bottom before they are allowed inside the hall. But in the middle of all the frivolity something unexpected happens and the dogs have to make a hasty exit…with or without the correct bottom!
Had to buy it for Sasha and Skye!

I can remember as a small child having a painting at home of a row of dogs tails hanging up as the dog’s entered a dog party and a similar thing happening and them leaving in a hurry and putting the wrong tails back on…..explaining why dogs are different breeds. Quite acceptable to a small child…..xx ?
