Along the Dorset coast

IMG_7737

After our train journey from Waterloo to Weymouth, we drove through the scenic Dorset countryside before arriving at our hotel – The Seaside Boarding House in Burton Bradstock.IMG_7602Situated above the cliffs, overlooking the sweep of Chesil Beach it has a little walkway down to the beach …
IMG_7603and we’re on the world heritage site of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.
IMG_7604We were warned to be careful. So Mummy who is always nervous about these warnings asked me to stay clear …IMG_7647as I galloped my way towards the cliffs. LOL!

“Come back!!!! DAR-CEEEEE!!!! Come back!!!!” she shouted.

“I want to take a selfie with you,” she said.IMG_7656“Let’s go the other way, Darce, it looks safer.”IMG_7626“Why don’t you go up to the little patch up there so I can take a photo of you?”IMG_7640And so I obliged.

I think these are the cliffs that actually fell!!!

After walking on “grumbling pebbles” IMG_7616we took a breather and sat up high to look at the pounding waves.IMG_7607And then a walk up the cliff side
IMG_7657To our hotelIMG_7659 The sun was out but the coastal winds blew cold. Yet Mummy couldn’t resist sitting outside.IMG_7671 And here’s our reward! IMG_7678 May’s comment: A little treat for all that walking!IMG_7675 We’re neither in Devon nor Cornwall so we had one scone with cream on top and another with cream on the bottom.IMG_7679Ahhh, the trivials of life.

  1. How delicious do those scones with jam and cream look!? They’re certainly getting your undivided attention Miss D. The beach doesn’t look too bad either.

  2. Oh to be in Dorset again! I am so pleased for Darcy and Mummy to be walking the shores and cliffs and attending a writing workshop there! Keep enjoying!

  3. What a beautiful spot! I can only imagine how much fun Darcy is having.
I never knew there is a right way or wrong way to eat scones depending on where you are eating them. Can’t wait to hear how Darcy did in class.

  4. We are off to Bridport in a few weeks. We are camping at the beer and food festival, probably not quite your style MissD, but such good fun.

  5. Pingback: Ranch perfect!
