A Taste of Provence in Belgravia: Amélie at The Pantechnicon
Tucked into the distinguished Pantechnicon building in Belgravia, on Motcomb Street, Amélie, with its Provençal-inspired cuisine, elegant interiors, and a warm, relaxed charm, invites diners to slow down and savour each dish.
The décor is polished yet warm: velvet seating in muted tones, crisp white tablecloths, and artful lighting to balance intimacy and openness. The layout includes a terrace facing Motcomb Street, letting guests dine al fresco on sunnier days.
Dogs at Dinner: Paw-Friendly Dining for Chelsea Dog Day Week
One delightful feature of Amélie is its embrace of canine companions. For the week of 29 September – 5 October 2025, the restaurant is offering a limited-edition dog menu to celebrate Chelsea Dog Day.
The dog menu is available on the terrace and ground floor, and they ask diners to highlight when booking if their furry friend will be joining.
Dishes include beef tartare, salmon and a Provencal Bowl, which is more vegetarian. Puppacinos are on offer (a dog-safe “frothy” drink treat) and Pup de Chocolat (oat milk and carob powder)
Even beyond the special menu, Amélie positions itself as a dog-friendly spot. The ground floor and terrace are the areas where dogs are welcome on the terrace and ground floor of the restaurant.
The Pantechnicon: Past, Present & Reinvention
The Pantechnicon has a storied history. Originally built in the 19th century as an arts and crafts warehouse and showroom, it has long held a respected place in Belgravia.
The building has been reimagined as a refined dining and hospitality hub in recent years. Today, it houses three distinct destinations under one roof:
- Amélie on the ground and first floors, drawing inspiration from the sunlit south of France
- Sachi, the Japanese concept (robata, sushi, fine Japanese dining), now occupies upper levels and a rooftop setting, also lists itself as dog-friendly, with outdoor seating.
- Luum, a Latin American–inspired late-night lounge in the lower ground floor, adding a more vibrant, cocktail-led layer to the project
