From Hyde Park Doodles …
Happy 100th Birthday, Captain Tom Moore!
We will do walkies with you any time!
Former British Army office, Captain Tom Moore, at age 99 had a mission. He was aiming to walk a hundred lengths of the back garden (which is 25m in length) before he is 100 years old – which is today. He wanted to raise £1000 for the NHS charities.
They told his story on the BBC Breakfast Show and within days, his Just Giving Page passed £1,000,000.
On the day Capt. Tom Moore finished his 100 walks, his Just Giving Page reached over £10,000,000!!! He didn’t stop walking and at time of posting he had raised over £29 million for the NHS charities! We are sure he will surpass £30 million. His Just Giving page will end today at midnight.
And to top it all, he has a Number 1 single with Michael Ball –
Thank you for reminding us in these difficult times that ‘at the end of the storm, there’s a golden sky’.
And now you’re a Colonel!
May’s comment: Captain Tom Moore’s 100th Birthday Walk fired the imagination of a nation … he’s an inspiration to us all in this troubled time.
We are never too old or too late to make a difference in this world.
