Chelsea is Blooming!

It is that time of year again! Flowers everywhere in Chelsea (and Belgravia).

As tired as we were after a Goodwoof Weekend, we dragged ourselves to look at the floral displays scattered throughout Chelsea. We went early-ish as it gets terribly crowded.

As throngs of people wander up and down Kings Road and the side streets, taking photos, inevitably the dogs always get all the attention. Not just ours but every time a dog poses, a crowd gathers. LOL!

Chelsea in Bloom is London’s largest free flower festival, transforming the streets of Chelsea into a vibrant outdoor gallery of floral art. Running from 19–25 May 2025, this year marks its 20th anniversary, coinciding with the renowned RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Londonist+4Country Life+4DesignMyNight+4The Times+5MB1+5House & Garden+5

Organised by Cadogan in association with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), the event sees over 120 local businesses—including shops, restaurants, and hotels—adorn their facades with elaborate fresh flower installations. These displays interpret a new theme each year; for 2025, the theme is “Flowers in Fashion”, celebrating Chelsea’s rich sartorial history and its influence on global style. MB1+1Byther Farm+1House & Garden+1Instagram+1

Visitors can explore the floral creations throughout key areas such as Sloane SquareKing’s RoadSloane StreetDuke of York Square, and Pavilion Road. A downloadable map is available on the Chelsea in Bloom website to guide attendees through the installations. The festival also features a competitive element, with awards judged by an expert panel. Additionally, the public can participate by voting for the People’s Champion Award via the Chelsea in Bloom website. Country Life+2House & Garden+2PurPurPurPur+2

Beyond the floral displays, Chelsea in Bloom offers a variety of events, including walking tours, workshops, and in-store experiences, making it a delightful celebration of creativity and community spirit.
