Who knew men like chocolates?!?!?! But alas, there is one so honoured that he has chocolates named after him!
None other than Sir Hans Sloane as in Sloane Square of London.
It was his birthday on Saturday so the people selling Hans Sloane drinking chocolate was at the Duke of York Square to sell their wares –
Right under his statue! And as you know, Mummy loves chocolates – so we had to stop and try some.
May’s comment: I’m sure there are other chocolates names after men but I’ve never heard of Sir Hans Sloane drinking chocolate before but here we are! Learn something new everyday. https://www.sirhanssloane.com/default.asp
Sir Hans Sloane was a physician and also a collector of objects from around the world. When Sloane died in 1753, he bequeathed his collection of over 71,000 objects to the nation which then became the founding collection of the British Museum.
