We have often walked past Maître Choux and it looks so “white and clean” that we didn’t think we would be allowed in. But as we peeped in through the glass door, the girls behind the counter, said “Entrez Je vous en prie.”
Maître Choux is all about choux pastry – éclairs, profiteroles and chouquettes. The display of eclairs is like a mosaic of colourful tiles except they are all delicious!
So Mummy took us in for a cuppa and some eclairs.
Difficult to choose, I am sure. She ended up with hazelnut and matcha flavours. She said to mention that they are “slender pastry fingers”, so two is just about right.
And they do not do red velvets either! Probably too heavy for these delicate choux.
May’s comment: “Choux pastry is lightest, crispiest, airiest pastry, which can be used to make profiteroles, éclairs or savoury gougères.” says Delia.
Stopped for a little treat after a somewhat stressful day.
Chic white patisserie in South Kensington, specialising in eclairs and choux pastry, Maître Choux is presided over by Joakim Prat, formerly of Joël Robuchon. Address: 15 Harrington Road, London SW7 3ES

We’ve been twice the last two weeks – so pretty to look at, too addictive and not good for the hips nor pockets! 🙂
