Just when I had gained Mum’s trust on my recall – I blew it! All because of that darn rabbit.

It took years to build Mum’s trust and one rabbit to find a tracker around my collar!
But then Darcy had a Tractive tracker too. Even she sometimes lost her senses, though rarely.

But it was more for the purpose of tracking her activities, and knowing where she is at all times.
For me, it’s a necessity! Oops!
My tracker came in Snow. Mum thought it was a bit obvious against my dark hair. So she got a sleeve cover in midnight blue.

But she also saw they had a glow-in-the-dark sleeve – now that’s helpful – to go along with my neon yellow Equafleece for whenever I have a run outside in the dark.

Not sure when that will ever happen as I don’t think Mum fancies losing me to chasing a fox or whatever strange creatures roam the nights.
May’s comment: The Tractive dog tracker is the best one I have come across.

Since Darcy had her Tractive a few years ago – pre-Covid, they have an updated version – Tractive GPS Dog 4, with even better accuracy and battery life. It combines the latest network technology with their most popular features. And with unlimited range, it lets you see your dog’s location and activity levels almost everywhere in the world. This is particularly attractive for me – when we are travelling abroad or when I am away, I can see what George’s been up to.
Dog Friendly Design – The device itself weighs less than 30g (1.1oz). It attaches nicely on a collar and harnesses up to 2.5cm (1 in.) wide. It has up to 7 days battery life.

Dog-safe power button. There’s no risk of your dog accidentally turning the power on or off.
It is 100% waterproof and adventure-proof. It stays secured to the collar and out of your dog’s way.
When in LIVE mode, you’ll get updates every 2-3 seconds.

In addition to keeping track of where they are, some other helpful features include:
- Virtual Fence – Create safe spaces – for example, your garden or the neighborhood. You’ll be notified right away if your dog leaves it. And you’ll be notified you when they’re safely back in it. It was fab because I knew when they were about to be come home from day care or if I am not, then I know they are home.

- Activity Monitoring – Stay on top of their health and fitness. Check in on your dog’s fitness and activity levels throughout the day. See how active your dog is. Set goals. Compare with other dogs. Spot sleep patterns, and make sure your dog is getting quality rest.

- Unlimited Range – Worldwide location tracking & activity monitoringLocation History
- Enjoy the best tracking experience with the latest network technology. Choose a plan starting from £4 per month after checkout
We were gifted these Tractive trackers but as always, we only write about things we use ourselves and that we like. Over the years, we have tried several trackers from the ones that were the size of a small notepad to one that hangs as a tag. I am most impressed by the ability to follow the tracker minute by minute.

Oh George, poor mum will need more hair appointments with all the extra grey hairs you’re giving her. You are a little pickle but a handsome one at that.
I had to throw my last trackers from Tractive in the bin May. They were so inaccurate to the point when the dogs were in the car with me travelling through Oxford it said they were at home! Good to hear they have upgraded them but it will take quite a lot to convince me to put my faith in them again. )sad face)
With little Georgie , you never know !!
So good idea May 🐾💕
