We were lying in bed last night – Georgie and I were lying next to each other while Mummy was watching telly.
She thought it was cute our paws were touching.
Sorry! We moved.
May’s comment: Altogether again.
Darcy and George’s relationship has grown. It was interesting to have learnt how they were when on their own amongst other dogs at House of Mutt.
Sarah’s observation – a “heavenly (and energetic) pair“. She wrote that George “is fabulous and the perfect character to take on the task of Darcy-buddy; he doesn’t take any notice of her moments of pomposity and just ploughs on in party mode until she relents and joins in – perfect! He is also tolerant of her play which when she gets going, can be really quite boisterous for a little dog. All of which is making Darcy out to be bad but you know I don’t mean that, I just mean that he is very adaptable and easygoing so fits in very well with her.“
As I wanted them home over the weekend, the House of Mutt dropped them off at their respective weekend stay overs on Friday.
And I purposefully planned their return as Darcy still tends to be territorial. As much as she mopes when George is not at home, when he does come back, she gets a little annoyed with him – “what are you doing here?” I can hear her say to him as she growls and gets annoyed when he greets her with glee.
So I brought George home first yesterday after picking him up from his godparents. He was eager to get inside and immediately went looking for Darcy. He looked a little perturbed not to have Darcy growl at him when he arrived.
And when we settle for the night, Darcy still feels miffed if George sits in her favourite place between the pillows. I would duly remove George and hold him as I suggest she takes her place – which she does and slumps into position. George would then give me that look – “Now where do I sleep?” He eventually finds his place tucked up next to me or he goes to sleep next to her.
She used to mind when he came and slept next to her. She would get up and walk to another part of the bed. But now it doesn’t bother her. And sometimes they sleep back to back and in this instance, their little paws were touching each other.
Darcy has her little buddy aka “mischievous little brother” who helps her to get over being too precious. Love watching them play together.
