Hanging out with the “stars”

We came across a very odd occurrence on Kings Road last Saturday – Metro Bank launched its new branch (where Heal’s used to be forever!) to much fanfare.

What we know about Metro Bank is that they are very dog-friendly!  We’ve been into one and they always have dog biscuits and their staff are all cued to greet any pooches coming into the bank. That is their redeeming factor given that they replaced one of Mummy’s all-time favourite shops on Kings Road! 🙁

And true to their word, as part of their opening party, they had doggies performing tricks to impress hoomansIMG_6463This poor little fella stayed in position for a long time – the trainers seem to have forgotten he’s still praying! Or pretending to be sad? LOL!

And George, well, he didn’t care what they were doing, he was running around socialising with all doggies!IMG_6464He went to see what these fellas were up to.
IMG_6465 These are apparently trained dogs that gets paid to do movies, etc. They select dogs to be taken away to be trained to do tricks and perform.  Owners are not allowed to be there.  That’s the life of a dog star.IMG_6466Mummy asked if I could take a photo with these performing dogs. They said – well, if she wants to, as in if she is capable of sitting still.

Make way for I know when I see a bench I need to jump up.IMG_6467Little did they know that I may not be a trained performing dog like their motley crew, IMG_6468but I pose as good as any of them! LOL! My one good trick!

The trainers turned up their nose on us when they found out that I had worked on two modelling assignments with another pet agency. Don’t worry, I’m only an amateur with no proper training.  But Mummy’s proud of me.  And once I made enough to buy her a new Barbour jacket for our walkies. You see in the early days, she was ill-equipped – didn’t have the right garments for cold, rainy days. These days she decided she has more than enough for a million walkies and have decided she wanted something “nice” for a change.

May’s comment: Metro Bank launched their Chelsea branch last Saturday – with much commotion on the street. And the fact that they replaced one of the most loved shops on Kings Road that have been there for years was a little hard for old Chelsea-ites! The bank’s redeeming feature – they are dog-friendly. So we gave them a little “credit” – LOL!  The dog culture stems all the way from the top – apparently the owner of Metro Bank is a dog lover. For all I know, I think he was there on Saturday, mingling with the crowd.
