I barked at the reindeer …

.. . and Father Christmas. I didn’t like him last year either when we went to see him with Little Tyke at Harrod’s Christmas Grotto.

Mummy said – I definitely won’t be on the good doggy list. 🙁

Maybe because it was so dark that I only saw weird dark shapes of beasts with four legs and things on their heads. IMG_8254And this white furry faced man with funny hat.
IMG_8257It turned out to be a very wet tree lighting at the Duke of York Square. It threatened to rain all day but just as Father Christmas arrived in his sleigh, it poured. We took shelter under some umbrella but it was coming down hard. IMG_8259Of all the times, we didn’t have any of our coats on and my hair got very curly.

Even die-hard Mummy was ready to leave. We did run past this cube –IMG_8261 I’ve seen something similar on Fifth Avenue in New York City – I think it was the Apple Store! 🙂

We couldn’t see what was inside this but there was a queue of kids waiting to go inside. We figured this must be Father Christmas’s square igloo.

Forget about the carolling – let’s get on the bus. Feeling wet and dejected on the floor of the busIMG_8264George was sitting on Mummy’s lap. She asked me go up – but I refused. I knew I was too wet and dirty to sit on her lap.IMG_8267When we arrived at our bus stop – another downpour .  We had to take shelter outside a shop – me squeezed into a corner – looking pretty miserable.IMG_8270

When it stopped just a little, Mummy decided to make a run for it – a long way run.  I didn’t want to go but got dragged along – had no say in this. Fine for George, he was being carried. IMG_8271I know if George wasn’t there, I would have been carried. Instead here I am, one wet rat!IMG_8276We finally got home and I told Mummy I was annoyed.

IMG_8275Ps. Mummy signed us up to meet Father Christmas at the Grotto – so will have another chance to make the good doggy list.

May’s comment: Well it’s been fabulous weather till this past week – let’s hope this is not a sign of what’s to come. We love the cold but not wet please.

  1. Hideous downpours to get caught in today! Poor you!
We went to a birthday party but my wedges are suede so I wore welly boots to and from the restaurant and was VERY glad of them!
