Oh, that orange bandage on my leg? That’s for sympathy! LOL!
I had a skin tag under my neck. It was a beige grey piece of haired skin measuring 8x6x9 mm with a mass measuring 9×6 mm (info from the vet).
It had grown rather large and even though the vets told Mum it was probably benign, there’s always that bit of worry.
So last week, she finally decided for peace of mind to have it removed. Can you see? They shaved a big patch on my neck.

I had to wear my Wondercoat harness for a couple of days as that’s where the collar sits around my neck.
While it took only a few minutes to have it removed, Mum also had my teeth cleaned.

Mum said this will probably be the last time I have it done at the vets because I will be ten next year. And she promised herself that she will do her best to keep them as pearly white as possible.
May’s comment: All clear, and a relief.
The cells showed tricholemmal-type keratinisation and no keratohyalin granules were observed. Surrounding the mass were small numbers of plasma cells and lymphocytes multifocally. The neoplasm has been completely excised with 0.5 mm deep clear tissue border.
Histological Diagnosis: Tricholemmoma, haired skin from neck.
Comment: The mass submitted represents a tricholemmoma. This is an uncommon benign follicular neoplasm. Excision appears complete and is expected to be curative.
And probably George’s last teeth cleaning under general anaesthetic as he will be ten next year. Otherwise he is all healthy with whiter teeth. Must remember to clean every week!!!!
