Guess what we’re doing today? Mummy thought we’ll skip the Good Citizen for a bit and do something a more human – learn to take a selfie – very important for my blog!
Apparently in the session, we are going to use the iPad to learn these training skills:
- Targeting behavior: Getting a dog to touch a new object
- Shaping behavior: Working on strengthening a behavior. (You will either be shaping a strong nose touch, or a shaping a specific kind of touch (like a swipe or a tap)
- Adding new cues to behavior: using the iPad to make sounds and also show visual prompts that will act as new cues to known behaviors
- Naming and differentiating behaviors: Teaching Black/White, Right/Left, or Yes/N0
That’s sounds really hard – I’m a bit nervous if I can do all that. Can I go back to saying “please” and doing my twirls? I promise I will learn to jump up in your arms!
May’s comment: Don’t worry Darcy, we’ll have fun and I am sure we will kern a thing or two. Most importantly you’ll have to learn to take your own selfies! I can’t be there all the time.
This course is offered by City Dog trainer – Teach a dog new tricks
Will share how it all goes later!
