Fourth Advent Sunday means … it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Today is already the fourth Advent Sunday which means Christmas is around the corner. Time is flying by so fast,” Mummy said.

Yes, all the candles are now lit img_1348And we’re wearing our Christmas jumpers.

Christmas is being with the ones we love.img_1331And here we are with Jaffa around our miniature Christmas tree.  Jaffa and her family are going away for the holidays so this was the last time we’ll see her until next year.

Happy Fourth Advent Sunday everyone – one more week till Christmas!

May’s comment:  “Advent” is Latin for “a coming or arrival.”

“In Medieval times Advent was a fast during which people’s thoughts were directed to the expected second coming of Christ; but in modern times it has been seen as the lead up to Christmas, and in that context Advent Wreath serves as a reminder of the approach of the feast.” – Wikipedia

Yes indeed, cannot believe Christmas is only a week away. Just a little reminder of the meaning of the four candles in the Christian faith:

– the First Candle is the candle of prophecy that foretold Christ’s birth, thus also called the candle of Hope.

– the Second Candle is the candle of Light, that Christ is the Way and He was sent into the world to show people the way out of darkness.

– the Third Candle is the candle of Joy to be found in a life through Christ.

– the Fourth Candle is the candle of Peace reminding that Jesus comes to bring Peace to both the world.

We don’t have a fifth candle on our advent wreath – we may still add one given that our wreath is easily adaptable. The Fifth Candle is the Christmas Candle that represents Christ himself.
