Like millions of people all over the world, we watched the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral today.
The funeral was a touching, quiet spectacle, a beautiful send-off for a long lived life that was defined by service.
The saddest parts of the funeral was watching the Queen sitting on her own – a reminder of the pandemic, and when the coffin was taken to be interned. So final.
May’s comment: Today’s funeral for the Duke reminded us that there have been so many who lost loved ones during the pandemic and their grieving and the ability to find closure was limited to a few. It was with sadness as we watched the end of this symbolic life. Like many, many others the Duke and the Queen were a part of my entire life.

The funeral was such a somber and wonderful tribute to the Prince. His love for the queen and his country was evident and will not be forgotten. We sat mesmerized by the incredible pageantry that only the British know how to do!
