OK, Mummy was trying to hold back from showing the finished portrait till we got it on Sunday but quite a few of you have already seen it on Sara’s Facebook page!
When we were at Crufts we met up with Sara for our photo session. She and Mummy chose this photo – as Sara said – it has an element of Wuthering Heights about it. 🙂
So this is me – work in progress …
This is the portrait further along …
Sara painting at the Dog’s Trust show last weekend …
And then the final result! Voila!
May’s comment: Besides Darcy being a pretty subject, Sara captured her spirit of inquisitiveness and vulnerability. It is also her way of looking at me – with great devotion as well as great expectation. The final result – it’s so three-dimensional lifelike! When Sara sent me by email the final picture, my heart leapt with joy and couldn’t help but cried with delight.
All of Sara’s portraits have a charitable aspect to it. She donates £100 for every commission to help animals less fortunate than our own. Ours went to Nowzad – to raise funds to help the street dogs in Afghanistan. Sara is currently raising funds for Helping Paws.
