Melting Pot

IMG_1042

George is from Hungary, I’m from Wales, Mister Charles is English and Maddie is from America.

But we all live in the U.K. – London, to be more specific.

We doggies know no boundaries. We go where our humans take us and though we learn “commands’ in the many languages spoken, our basic understanding are the same. The always teach us to “sit”, “stay”, “come” – and then a few other tricks.

Sometimes we don’t agree with each other, we see things differently … IMG_1047We have little spats but overall, all we want is food, walkies and lots of loving.

As one hooman said, “… (we) have far more in common with each other than things that divide us …” (J. Cox)

But some hoomans made it difficult for us to travel freely. But some other hoomans fought for our rights – rather the rights of hoomans who have dogs and who travel across borders. They petitioned and introduced the Pet Passport so we are able to travel between recognised countries – so we no longer need to be quarantined (for months) when we cross borders.  IMG_4090-2-5The Pet Passport is really just a health check pass and really nothing to do with nationalities. Great Britain really wanted to keep out rabies and transference of other possible viruses or diseases that animals can transport.

The only thing that may eventually change if the UK exits the EU is the cover of our passports.
