Tis the season for candles. And tonight we light the first of eight candles because it is the night before Hanukkah.
Last year we lit the menorah candles with Little Tyke but this year he’s not here.
Instead we have dinky George.
We have to do this every night for the next seven nights, Georgie.
You see Georgie, Hanukkah celebrates a miracle at the ancient Temple. On a night when the Jews thought they had only enough oil to light the candles in the Temple for that one evening, to their delight, the oil lasted eight miraculous nights. That’s why we will be lighting a candle every night for eight nights.
Happy Hanukkah, Little Tyke and Mini Tyke – we miss not sharing this with you.
Each night when we light the candle, we will think of you both.
And to all our friends who are lighting a candle tonight – Happy Hanukkah – from our home to yours.
