Though not yet a P.A.T., I am allowed into the Hyman Fine Home. I’ve been before to visit my friend Sandrine.
She’s not totally comfortable with dogs and I know it so I stayed very calm for her.
I greeted her on the ground. She patted me. Before long I was on her chair
May’s comment: So proud of Darcy. This is not the first time she’s been to a Home. While others dozed, we greeted a few of the residents – bringing a bit of cheer to their otherwise monotonous day.
However, do not be deceived by them. They maybe old but definitely not without their opinions. One of them asked – “What’s her name?” “Darcy,” I said. This elderly resident replied, “What a silly name for a dog.” In shock, I queried “Silly name?” And held my tongue as I excused myself and hurried away. And sought out others who were simply delighted to stroke a dog and less opinionated!
Have considered her being a P.A.T. dog but have not got around to doing anything about it. As for me, I need training too to learn to deal with unexpected situations! 🙂
