After Mummy had her fill of bus tours, she felt it was time we did things for me.
The morning walk in the palace garden wasn’t really the kind of walks I am used to back in London.
We were told there were a couple of places where I can run. So we got into a car and drove to the Dingli Cliffs.
Dingli Cliffs? Mummy didn’t think that sounded right. But everyone was so enthusiastic about our going there, she thought maybe “cliffs” in Maltese meant something else.
When we arrived, we saw a solitary chapel, dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene, standing on the edge of the cliff.
They sure were cliffs! Deep dropping cliffs!
Mummy took the pictures that were calling to be taken …
And then I got rather curious about the surrounds …
And wandered around the cliff side –
Mummy thought the cliffs too dangerous for me to be dashing around – not such a good idea and left.
Buskett Gardens – maybe?
We saw a lot of orange trees and thought it was an orange grove but apparently it also holds vineyards, olive and lemon groves. It is home to different types of trees and plants. It was used as a hunting ground and planted by the Knights of Malta.
I ran along the paths – I didn’t feel like run amongst the trees.
There was this dog that was perched on the roof top of his house and barked at us the whole time.
Then he came down lower to check out what we were doing.
I was just having a poo!
Oh, and that’s Verdala Palace in the distance – the summer residence of the President of Malta. But it was also used in the first series of Game of Thrones when Daenerys met Khal Drogo for the first time!
Buskett Gardens also appeared in Game of Thrones!
After a not so long walk, we went back to the car. We met this gentleman who introduced himself to us. His name was GEORGE!!!
Something tells us we’re missing the little one.
May’s comments: We are so spoilt in London where the dogs can run freely in the parks – and so many options. The more we travel, the more we appreciate what we have back home.
Also forgot that they did film quite a bit of Game of Thrones on Malta!
