Special Birthday Wishes

Thank you everyone for my birthday wishes!!! I really had a super day running around the Dales with brother George and our friend, Miuccia. We will tell you all about that when we’ve had some time to write about it.  It was “memorable”!!!!

Some of by birthday wishes came from some very special people – my EIGHT godparents.  They have each given me a name and that’s why I am – Darcy Lucinda Lena Isabella Fuzzy Ruby Asta Juno Sashimi May-Lee.

The first of my godmothers is Freya, she lives in Washington DC and has a chocolate labradoodle called Bella.  I have never met Bella but Mummy has. The last time Mummy was in D.C. she took Bella to Sprinkles and bought her cupcakes.  And Mummy is Freya’s godmother! Freya and her family comes to London often and they always come to say hello to us.
IMG_0481-580x433My next godmother, Beate lives in Frankfurt.  And she gave me the name Lena which means “sunshine”. The last time we saw Beate was in Berlin. IMG_6707When we arrived home from Yorkshire last evening, we found a package for me! She sent me a box of biscuits from Biscuiteers!!!  IMG_3411It has my name on one of the biscuits.IMG_3413but I shared it with GeorgeIMG_3416But there’s lots more in the box – a bag of treats for each day of the week – how amazing. IMG_3417Oh, Mummy said, it’s one per day so that should last us for a while. 🙁  Thank you, Beate! You know us so well by now. I don’t really play with toys any more so Georgie takes everything that’s mine except for Teddy – but treats, we LOVE treats!

Happy Birthday sweet Miss Darcy. Wishing you many more years of squirrel chasing, doodle dashing, yummy treats feasting…. and never-ending love.
Hugs & kisses from Germany

From Jane, who lives part-time in London and San Diego, she gave me the name “Isabella Fuzzy”!  She told us that we’re her favourite doggies on this side of the pond because she has her own little Pip in California. IMG_6900 She sent me this message in a Jacquie Lawson card –IMG_3420And there’s Mairi who spoils me rotten whenever she has me. She took care of me for awhile when Mummy wasn’t well and we went for long walks and had lots of treats. She gave me the name “Ruby“.  Mairi LOVES dogs but she works such long and odd hours that she can’t have one  – so she’s always happy to have me.IMG_5059Happy birthday dearest Darcy! You are such an intelligent, affectionate delight and I wish you a day of special treats, pampering and a loooooooog walk chasing squirrels. Enjoy, Mairi

And from Bemi, who lives in San Francisco, she named me “Juno“.  The last time she came to see me, she brought me Lammy-kins. Those were the days when I would chew up the guts of all soft toys – so Lammy lasted all of a week. 🙂  Bemi told us she loves dogs but she also managed to poke a dog in the eye and that dog never forgave her! BemiHappy Birthday Darcy! Miss you.
XO Bemi

And one of the few true English godmother – and she gave me the name “Asta“.  That’s the name she would give her dog if she has one. Sarah lives upstairs from us and had considered getting a dog but again, she can’t so we fill the gap! But of late, I think she is more taken with George than me. 🙁IMG_0117-580x435I have only one godfather and he’s Little Tyke’s daddy. Sammy gave me the name “Sashimi” – and not because I am in any way fishy! IMG_1112-580x776He thought since Little Tyke is my BFF that we should also share the same “nickname”. And he is also five, like me!  And he sent me a birthday message.IMG_0909-2Darcy-Sashimi
Have a lovely birthday from your best friend in the world.
Love from
Sasha Rene Harari Xx
P.s. have a great day!

Last but not least is my really Aunty May-Mei – she’s Mummy’s sister who lives in New Jersey.  And she gave me the name “May-Lee” which is consistent with the names in the girls in Mummy’s family – May Sum, May Ping, May Mei and I am May-Lee!IMG_5003-580x776Aunty May-Mei has a Cavalier King Charles, my cousin Molly.IMG_1221-2Happy birthday Miss Darcy! May there be lots of nice surprises and new adventures in the coming year.
Hugs and Kisses,
May-Mei and cousin Molly

May’s comment: Well, I started off giving Darcy a godmother from every “nationality” but it sure seem to weigh heavy on the American side.  It is all for fun and nothing “Christian” about it – just in case the person who read an earlier blog about godparents had kittens about this again!  It’s all for fun – but most of the “godparents” are friends who cannot have their own dogs – and Darcy and now George fill a place in their lives.

  1. Great info. Lucky me I came across your site by chance (stumbleupon).

I have book marked it for later!

  2. This site definitely has all the info I needed about this subject and didn’t know who to ask.
