This was Dudley – when he was a severely emaciated Rhodesian Ridgeback.
And this is Dudley after the RSPCA stepped in and took him to a boarding kennel.
I’m sorry if I am giving away the “storyline” if you haven’t watched it. It was really disturbing to see both Dudley and Carla – they were both very emaciated Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Thankfully someone called the RSPCA and they stepped in to take them away from their owner and were saved.
And so it was one of a few happy stories on last night’s Channel 5’s docuseries – The Dog Rescuers. No one had to die on this episode. (Take note Julian Fellowes!)
One staffie, Gypsy was voluntarily re-homed – he is one of the silent victims of the recent economic recession.
And another pooch, Fleur is about to find herself in a new home – one of the RSPCA staff fell in love with him. Smiles all around!
Mummy was weeping with joy. She wishes she has a large place and would gladly take a few of them! Till then – Hooray for the RSPCA!

Yes ,I don’t know how the dogs(and cats) would get on with out them.My little Fox terrier I adopted ayear ago,now nearly 12 was one of 92 dogs seized from a property.Some did not survive.
Such carelessness when the dogs probably never did anything but stayed loyal. Makes me want to be an animal activist.
Dudley was so gorgeous . How he survived from being in such a bad way and being 14 years old and so weak was nothing short of miraculous . He must have had tremendous powers of recovery to pull through . I have never forgotten Dudley and Carla from this programme hence the comment after years !
