The Universe knows the perfect timing for all those things you want and will find, through the crack of least resistance, the best way to deliver it to you.
So my Gotcha Day story is a little different, slightly more drama of the heart for Mum, who ordered a pup on the website because she thought I would help to seal a deal with a man she once was gaga-over. Yes, gaga, not love. Love is blind, the humans always say, and in this case, she was! Seriously blind-sighted! She couldn’t see the forest from the trees as they say.
As I excitedly marked my presence on arrival, she stood glued to the floor staring at the round dark grey spot I had left on her silk rug. There was no doubt that she questioned her sanity for getting me, but she persevered for the next two months, hoping that I would seal the deal and make her fantasy a reality. But when the man she was gaga over smacked me for peeing on his rather ordinary wool rug, her fairytale vanished as if Tinkerbelle had waved her wand. So instead of a happy little family she had fantasised, she found herself a single dog-parent.
Fast forward ten years, we know what happened. She eventually had a change of heart and took on the responsibility of being a dog-owner. The rest is history as they say. And if anyone says hoomans don’t change, Mum is an example where they can have a change of heart and focus. What hadn’t change is how she goes about things – full on 100% – as before long, she became the Girl with the Dog(s) in our neighbourhood, fighting our corner to have the rights to be a part of her life.

You see, the Universe gives us what we need albeit sometimes in a roundabout way. This was a story in itself.
May’s comment: The last ten years have flown by at supersonic speed. Only yesterday ten years ago, I was not a dog owner, then the next day I was. Bewildered and in doubt, I questioned what I had done.

I always say I got a dog for all the wrong reasons, but that was the route the Universe used to bring Darcy into my life. When the original plot didn’t quite pan out, it took only a little while for me to realise the love I was seeking for came four-legged and our-dependency gave me the sense of belonging I hadn’t known I needed.
“The moment I embrace my peace within and surrender the outcome is the moment that the Universe can truly get to work.“

The Universe has your back. Instead of trying to control the outcome, just enjoy the journey.

Ten years May- Can’t believe it is that long and I say that every year! And you got Miss Darcy on my wonderful mums birthday. Time is passing so quickly, we must make the most if every minute. Happy gotcha day beautiful Darcy 🐾❤️🐾❤️
Happy Gotcha Day a day late! I have a pup who is 10 years old, too. The years just fly by when you’re happy!
I loved Darcy’s post today. She is so very wise! I know I have learned a lot from my baby Sparky, a wirehair terrier. He is kind, patient and gentle normally, but fierce when necessary, without a second’s hesitation. We, too, can be either as the situation warrants. I’ve been following Darcy’s blog for years. Thanks for sharing your life with us, Darcy!
