And so it happened. Along with Piccolina (a ZEM rescue) and Teresa from The Dog Vine, we hosted the first Rescue Dogs of London & Friends meetup on Sunday.
We are still smiling and even emotional looking at the group photo. What an incredible turnout it was, with over 50 people joining us to celebrate our shared love for dogs, especially rescue dogs, and give back to dogs in need.
The rescue dogs in attendance came from 12 countries – Romania, South Africa, China, Oman, Hungary, Israel, Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, Australia, Greece and UK. And they have now made cosmopolitan London their home.
We cannot thank you enough for all those who participated, supported and donated. Your presence helped create a wonderful and much-needed community for London rescue dogs and their friends, celebrating the unmistakable bond we share with our dogs.
We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the incredible generosity and support, as well as that of our generous Meetup Partners and Goodie Bag partners, we have successfully raised an outstanding £2,234! We are absolutely over the moon!
This remarkable amount will be split equally between our two deserving charity partners: Zem Rescues and Slaughterhouse Survivors. All contributions will directly impact the lives of rescue dogs in Greece and China, and both charities are incredibly grateful for the support of our group.
The positive impact of our Meetup extends far beyond the funds raised. The connections made, shared stories, and friendships forged are invaluable, and we believe this is just the beginning of something truly special.
