Introducing two new Masterpaws to our gallery wall!
First, there is George, depicted as The Laughing Cavalier. His spirit has been wonderfully captured!
The Laughing Cavalier (1624) iby the Dutch Golden Age painter Frans Hals. The unknown subject is in fact not laughing, but can be said to have an enigmatic smile, much amplified by his upturned moustache. Note moustache on George and he has a snaggle tooth smile! LOL!
Lulu has been painted as The Girl With Pearl Earing. Now she’s a Chelsea girl it suits her well.
Girl with a Pearl Earring (1665) is an oil painting by Dutch Golden Age painter Johannes Vermeer. Note the “pearl” earring stuck onto the painting of Lulu.
Martine, Rusty’s mum, artist and a good friend of ours has kindly gifted us our very own master paws. If you remember, she painted “Darcy Lisa” last year. It was her first MasterPaws!
Having started her dog paintings in a bold pop art style, Martine changed strokes for a fine art collection named Masterpaws. She has meticulously painted a few of the greats including Da Vinci, Toulouse Lautrec, Degas, Munch, to name a few.
Martine’s attention to detail is astonishing.
Word has it she has entered her painting “The Dogs Dinner” aka The Last Supper to the Summer Exhibition at London’s Royal Academy. Fingers crossed she’s chosen.
The painting contains many of our closest friends. We are crossing all our paws!
