It’s a funny thing that moon in the sky. It is always there but we don’t see it all the time.
But a week ago there was a very bright moon. Mummy saw it from her hospital bed. In fact she was woken up by its bright light. She laid awake contemplating its presence, but eventually she had to put down the shades to “dim” it.
I was already at the House of Mutt in Suffolk – a long way from London. And I remember looking at the same moon from the room where we slept.
No, I did not howl – it’s a myth it seems. There is no evidence that wolves howl when the moon is out.
But just the thought that though we were apart, Mummy and I looked at the same bright light in the sky. We were united by its presence.
And earlier that night, Little Tyke also looked at the same moon in Ko Samui. His Mummy sent us that photo of the moon over the sea.
These heavenly bodies are huge though they seem small when we look at them from afar. And it’s a comforting thought that though we are physically apart, we are still admiring the same bright beautiful light in the sky. It almost seems I can send a message to Mummy via the moonbeams!
