When Charlie comes to stay, this is what happens at bedtime …
I try to sleep where I normally do – next to Mummy, but Charles will somehow get even closer to Mummy.
George on the other hand, looks at us and decides he will stay close to Mummy by her feet and not crowd in with us two crazy poos!
During the night we would move around. I stretch out after awhile. George goes to the other corner of the bed, but not Charlie. He stays put, or for some strange reason he might jump off the bed and sleeps under the chair Come morning, it’s a whole different set of activities … the minute Mummy starts to stir, or when the alarm goes off, we are all eager to see what she’s doing.
Charles maintains his prime position by sleeping on Mummy. Now George joins in for his morning tummy rub and I, well, now all I can think about is when she is going to give us our breakfast.
I leave the fighting for position to the boys.
May’s comment: My friend, Sue from NYC came to stay with us and for the first time, someone could take photos of us in bed – not just selfies, which doesn’t give a sense of what really happens every morning – especially when Charlie is with us!
I have often thought how lucky I am to wake up to all those furry faces staring at me – kisses, cuddles, all demanding to have their chin or tummy rubs! And if I should stop storming one of them, they would nudge me demanding for more.
But Charlie is going home today … he’s been with us for the past week and a half. The timing wasn’t great as I was so extremely busy and had to leave my dogs at home most of the day. I was a little concerned as the first few times Charlie came to stay, he was so nervous when I left him at home with my two – that he pee’d. But this time he has been absolutely fine and I could leave him with my two. But each time I arrived home, he would claw me to death until I picked him up and hold him for a good 5-10 minutes, telling him to calm down – all this while, my two dogs are looking at me wondering why Charlie gets special hugs. All that said, he’s been a vast improvement.
Till the next Charlie stay-over.

How wonderful to sleep beside 3 precious little beings that love you unconditionally…even although you have to sleep on the edge of the huge bed!
