Yesterday was International Friendship Day and we were going to meet up with our Norwegian friend, Krølle (Curly)
But his mum had last minute work commitments so we met up this evening instead – just in time before he and his family return home to Norway tomorrow morning.
Krølle’s family moved from Oslo to London exactly four years ago.

We had met through Facebook and our blog. Krølle is a Shih-Tzu and Poodle cross. So he has the Poodle in me and the Shih-Tzu in George!

Krølle and his mum had joined us at a few Hyde Park Doodle meets and Christmas tea parties. She reminded us of our very first meeting at a Doggy Christmas Lunch at Gaucho Hampstead. Plates of steaks had just been served on our table of cockapoos, and Krølle’s hooman sister had left the table … when little George somehow managed to get on the chair and stole the entire steak off the plate! Thank goodness it was a table of dog lovers who thought it was hilarious.

Over the years, we’ve only managed to get together a handful of times because Krølle’s family having been posted here for four years took every opportunity to discover England. But it’s not the quantity of time spent but the quality of friendship that matters.
So on this last evening together, we shared memories and our plans for the uncertain future. One thing for sure, this is not a goodbye, it’s til vi møtes igjen (till we meet again) here, there or anywhere! Now we will have someone to visit the next time we are back in Norway.
P.S. I pretended to be super friendly with Krølle’s dad. I jumped up to sit next to him, but I was really trying to get to his pockets – I knew there were yummy treats!

And Mari knew of my reputation. She had to restrain me … LOL!

May’s comment: We have met quite a few friends from different parts of the world over the years. That is definitely one of the blessings of writing the blog and use of social media.
We live in a transient world …

It was lovely to have you in London the past few years. Till we meet again Mari and Krølle.
