Lighting a candle for Claude as he crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Go safely, my friend.

We take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering. And as he crossed over – all our other friends will be there to meet him …

And we imagined there sits Claude amongst his new and old friends … talking about the hoomans they have each left behind.

Run free Claude! There will be no more pain, no more sickness, no more sadness. And you can see again! We will all meet again some day over that bridge.
R.I.P. dear Claude. You were a legend, a hero, a gentle giant and I am honoured to have met you and to call you my friend.

May’s comment: The tears just flowed and flowed … he is gone.
We knew you were ill, and you had fought gallantly – and with such dignity.
We knew for awhile there was little time left. But lockdown after lockdown, and also my self-isolation meant we never made it for that last walk, that last meet-up.
For as much as we take comfort in knowing that you are no longer suffering, it doesn’t take away the immense sadness in our hearts.
You have touched so many of us during your time on this earth.
To Ian, Anita, Max – we send you the biggest hugs, and a Claude-size band-aid to mend your broken hearts. When we can meet up, we will drink to beautiful memories.
