Rocko and I had a very long walk in Hyde park today. And it was hot, hot, hot!
We walked past the Italian Gardens – a 150 year old ornamental garden believed to have been created by Prince Albert as a gift to his beloved Queen Victoria (they were definitely into gift giving!)
I was so thirsty by then and was just about to drink from the mucky fountains when Mummy showed me this special water fountain with clean running water. It’s a statue of two hugging bears. Sweet!Needed that drink! Slurped away for a long time!
May’s comment: Apparently it was installed in 1939 to commemorate 80 years of the Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association. It provided water for market-bound cattle and horses.
