Une réunion à la Maison Assouline

Aujourd’hui, nous avons eu une réunion à la Maison Assouline …

IMG_6221We’ve been here quite a few times with Mummy for a coffee, glass of wine or some luncheon. IMG_6738-2But today we knew we had to behave and sat quietly while the humans spoke.

I’ve met Prosper before but not Martine. So today, Mummy introduced George and I to Martine.IMG_6228And we also introduced George to Prosper. Well, sort of.IMG_6235May’s comment: Along Piccadilly in a beautifully restored 1922 building by Sir Edward Lutyens is Maison Assouline – an oasis in the heart of busy Piccadilly.

You walk into a lofty ceilinged, wood-panelled room and you see the Mondrian wall of books. It is a room full of curiosities. There are tables and chairs scattered for a small cafe where you can enjoy a drink, lunch or light dinner. img_2637

The Assoulines have been friends since we worked on a project together in New York though our friendship began in a hilarious and ridiculous way – that it pained us to talk about and yet laugh at its incredulity. Sometimes strange things bring people together. This time it wasn’t because of the dogs, or is it?
