Along Fulham Road is the Brompton Cemetery. One of my walkers, Raymond likes to take me there – on the leash. We’re not supposed to be off leash.
But I’ve been there with Mummy and Sammy and I was off leash and as I always do – run! I weaved through tombstones and trees and ran along paths chasing squirrels!
There’s a central avenue which leads to a little chapel, but we’re suppose to walk along the side lanes.
May’s comment: An atmospheric walk, the Brompton Cemetery designed by Benjamin Baud is one of the finest Victorian Metropolitan cemeteries. It is still an active burial site but also a place to retreat to – one of peace and tranquility. On a foggy winter day, it is even more a place of beauty. It is managed by Royal Parks and the only Crown Cemetery.More later …
Dogs are not allowed to run freely, they are allowed to walk through it on a leash or along a path on the side, but how do you stop a crazy dog from not just running wild through all the tombstones!
