Aunty Sue, we’ve been waiting for you to come home yesterday. We missed you last night. George was lying on your bed waiting for you to come home but you didn’t come.
This morning, Mummy told us you had left for home. She said it will be a long while before you will come back to visit again. It has been a lovely week. We loved our walks every morning, afternoon and evening.
We loved going to the park with you.
And all the restaurants we went to together.
Also thank you for our very smart Ralph Lauren Polo tennis whites!
George and I hope you had a good stay, and that you will think of us as much as we think of you.
May’s comment: It was lovely to share the week with Sue. We were good friends when we lived in NYC in the early 80’s, but life took us down different paths. She got married and settled. I got corporate and moved continents. We lost touch for awhile because we were both busy with our own lives.
It was only due to unforeseen circumstances for both of us that brought us back together again. Finding that we were both in the same boat – single again, the aspect of friendships take on a stronger role. And it also freed her to do things – she finally found time to come visit. Despite all the years, we fell right back into step as if it was yesterday.
Sue is not (yet) a doggy person but had thought about getting one in her new circumstances – so it was a test. And she passed with flying colours – especially when she spent a few hours one day just her and George – and she had to pick up his poo!
The bonding began then! LOL!
But George, the usual charmer stuck close to her from the minute she arrived and slept on her bed the first night. On another day when he wasn’t happy with me, he chose to sleep with her. He is not completely loyal – I’ve known that for awhile.
Thanks Sue, for being a part of our lives this past week! And we look forward to your future visits! And I think we also know that when you finally get your own fur baby, it will be very much loved. We look forward to that day!
