Where Shakespeare Tread

IMG_2713

We arrived at Stratford-Upon-Avon today to check out Shakespeare birth place and to reunite with my brother Milo.

We stayed at The White Swan – where parts of the building has been dated back to c. 1450.IMG_2694

IMG_2681There are two dogs guarding the reception – so of course I needed to pose with themIMG_2599 The lobby …IMG_2683 There are quotes all over the place …IMG_2685IMG_2709 IMG_2708The original owner, Robert Perrott’s granddaughter married Richard Tyler who was one of William Shakespeare’s boyhood friends. So it is quite likely that Shakespeare and the couple frequented this inn.  Maybe sitting near the original bar.IMG_2710

There is a 16th Century mural that is still visible in The Oak Room.IMG_2715IMG_2714We, as in me, was not allowed in the restaurant but we could eat in the bar.IMG_2608
