Over the years, I have diminished a lot of stuffed toys. I have gutted them and rendered them limp and lifeless. With Teddy, I have only lovingly nibbled his arms and for five years, he has been my favourite toy.
That’s what Mummy tells everyone, but I think it is really her favourite for me. LOL!
Don’t get me wrong, I do get upset whenever another doggy were to take Teddy.
I would go after them and keep a keen eye on what they would do with Teddy,
almost begging to have Teddy back.
Of course, they never did and Mummy would intervene and helped out.
George would play with every other toy in our basket but not my Teddy. He knows Teddy is out of reach.
But not Charlie.
One day, when Mummy went out and left Charlie with us, he took Teddy and decided to rip apart the bandage over his heart.
I didn’t have Mummy to help me save Teddy from the onslaught. The result was devastating. But the consequence was even an greater disaster! I had re-discovered the insides of Teddy –
I haven’t gutted any soft toy since I was two
but I seem to have found delight in taking out his guts.
Mummy tried to put the stuffing back but she hasn’t been successful in stopping this new habit of mine. Could this be the beginning of the end of Teddy?
Can he be salvaged – for Mummy?
May’s comment: Sentimental me.
This is the first Teddy I bought for Darcy and it’s her favourite. Not my imagination but this is the only toy she cares about. Whenever any other doggy who’s visiting should take it away from her, she gets very concerned.
She would look at them, almost begging them to give Teddy back. Of course they never would. I had to step in and remove it from them, give Teddy back to Darcy and she walks away with it, protecting it.
She often wanted to take Teddy out for our evening walks – While Darcy had chewed up a lamb, giraffe, mouse, skunk, squirrel, bones – she had only lovingly nibbled at Teddy’s arms.
I love watching her play with her Teddy but I think the demise of Teddy might be inevitable and I will be sad. We have bought new teddies to replace it but nothing will be as special as her first Teddy. 🙁

Nooo! May you must save Ted! I’m convinced my cockapoo has bonded in the same way with one of her toys (aka Donkey).
Perhaps it is sentimental but she won’t go to bed without it.
Save Teddy! He holds too many memories. Cute Teddy movie, May.
Teddy must be saved… I may start a petition lol.
Lol!!!
The movies were so cute!!
Let’s find the best Teddy transplant surgeon in England …I am happy to donate my woolly jumper for the op…
Love the Teddy Bear movie. Still love Elvis! Miss D is so like Elsie in looks and her antics. I have now bought Elsie a Kong teddy, which has managed to last her about a month, unlike her other toys which last about an hour if we’re really lucky. It’s stuffed with rope and minimal fluff.
