Summer Memories

IMG_7321

And just like that we’re in September.

Summer 2022 was full on – with Little Tyke, Mini Tyke spending the summer in England. We didn’t travel abroad but enjoyed the long days of the British Summer. This year was super special with the Jubilee celebrations in June.

There were picnics in the park, trees to climb and rivers to explore by boat.

It was a very hot summer – we ate ice-cream whenever we could.

Mini Tyke who had just turned nine tried teaching me new tricks. Let’s say she tried … LOL!

But I did learn a couple of new tricks too as I am working my way to Expert Trick Dog.

We explored new places and returned to old ones.

After two years of Covid lockdown, quarantines and vaccinations, despite the chaos at airports and flight cancellations, lots of Mum’s friends stopped over in London – some I have met before and others for the first time.

Note they all had their photos taken with me except for one! 🙂

There were lovely gatherings with old friends –

By mid-August, Mini Tyke had to return to Ko Samui as school started early for her.

And this week, Little Tyke went back to school too.

And just like that, Summer’s over. It was full, it was fun – and we didn’t even travel abroad! It was just a lovely summer in England. Long and sometimes very hot summer days.

But the days are shorter now and the weather is slightly cooler as we run headlong into the Autumn. Thankfully the rains have arrived – and never again will Mum complain about muddy parks.

May’s comment: September. How did we get here so quickly?

With Sasha and Skye in London, we happily stayed home and not travelled abroad – to avoid the crowds, the chaos at airports and super-charged prices.

Instead we enjoyed the English summer … from Sports Day, Speech Day and the usual English Summer highlights

The days and months have whizzed by. New memories were made but never a day passed without us thinking of what fun we would have had if Darcy was with us.

Here’s to Summer memories as we head towards the end of this year.
