Once he was Little Tyke, now MyBuddy – we have known each other for almost ten years!
Can you believe that?
This was the day we met back in 2011.

We spent a lot of time together that Summer – we were both at each other’s eye level …

When you came back the following year, you were walking on two legs while I will always be on four.

Summer 2012
You were a cheeky little monkey!
A year later, you were already three and had become a big brother to Mini Tyke.

We spent five fabulous months together in London. And though you left before you turned four, in such a short time you’ve grown so much.

The next Summer you and your family returned to London and we celebrated your turning FIVE!

And the next year we were in Sussex to celebrate your SIXTH birthday!

And lucky SEVEN! We were together again!

Mum went to see you in Koh Samui for your EIGHTH birthday – and Impostor had to step in for me.

Last year we were together to celebrate your last year of single digit!

Though you were excited that it was your birthday, you were also a little apprehensive because rightly so, you said “this is the last time I will be single digit.” So true!
But time waits for no one and we were so looking forward to celebrating your big TEN, your first double digit this Summer. Then the virus stopped everything from being normal. You couldn’t come to London as planned and Mum couldn’t go to see you.

So this will have to do for 2020 – something different – a snowscape instead of the usual summer photo – and with Impostor.
We miss you all, and we wish you the happiest birthday ever! Well, except I won’t be there and neither will Impostor, nor Mum.
May’s comment: Besides his first birthday, I have always managed to celebrate all his others. Along came the pandemic and no commercial flights are allowed into Thailand. They might be opening next week – a week too late. This was for me, by far the hardest thing during our Lockdown and pandemic restrictions.
I saw them last in February when skiing in Niseko – thank goodness for that as I am not sure when I will see them again this year. 🙁

They grow so fast so every moment matters.
Happy Birthday Sasha. It’s been a joy to watch you grow up into a creative, sensitive, curious, intelligent, handsome and competitive chap. We look forward to more predictable times when we can plan celebrations together.

Can’t believe I’ve known you for almost a decade!

It’s wonderful to see them growing up together like these photos. Shame you can’t be together this year but hopefully we’ll get back to where we were before “it” soon.
Happy, Happy 10th Birthday Sasha! I hope you have a fabulous day, and all your birthday wishes come true!
It’s been fun watching you grow up. You’re becoming quite the handsome young man!
May, thank you for the photos, they were a joy!
