You’re up very early, Mr. Sun!

Good morning, Mr. Sun! Long day ahead for you – 17 hours of lighting up our skies.

We got up early to greet the sun. We weren’t quite going out for a walk yet – not that crazy! Rather, Mummy did not want to get out of bed at 4am!

And then the rains came – let’s hope we see some of those promised 17 hours of sun – sometime today.

May’s comment: Was hoping to have been able to go up north but so much happening at home we couldn’t go anywhere to experience the Summer Solstice.

I was up in Iceland four Summers ago and was a week before the Summer Solstice.  Even then the light never faded. This was taken past midnight from my room at the Blue Lagoon.DSC03930 And this was about 3am.IMG_3244I hardly slept that night between waiting for the last light and the first light. Hey, wait a minute, why didn’t I sleep between the first light and the last light?  Must have been something to do with the light and heightened sense of awareness – too much energy. Or not.
