On Darcy’s Gotcha Day, we were invited to lunch at the appropriately named Darcie & May Green restaurant.
Darcy and Mum were the at the forefront of making dog owners aware that you can live your daily life with your dog – don’t leave home without us, was the core message! That’s how they started writing this blog more than nine years ago. And so we thought it was simply appropriate that we lunched at Darcie & May Green restaurant that consist of two barges on the Grand Canal in Paddington!
We were delighted that Mr. Darcy and Ju-Li could join us for lunch. To honour the memory of Miss Darcy, I wore one of her favourite Hindquarters collars and Mr. Darcy wore her letter jacket from Poldo Dog Couture.

The restaurant staff had wicker dog baskets for us to sit in – and they made sure the Pawrents knew the dog house rules.

We were treated to dog bone biscuits and … specially made doggy lamingtons!!!!

Lamingtons? You ask. What are they? Well, it was firstly delicious!

And that it is traditionally Aussie! Filled with cream and jam, coated in a chocolate icing and rolled in coconut. I loved it! Can you tell?
Let’s just say we had a long boozy lunch … and we did what Darcy’s done almost all her life – checking out another dog-friendly restaurant so that we can enjoy spending time with our hoomans and making more memories together.
May’s comment: Thank you Daisy Green Collection for helping us to remember Darcy on the day she entered my world. We toasted to her memory.

Darcie and May Green bring Australian brunch, lunch, dinner and cocktails from a pair of two 50 metre barges floating on the iconic Grand Union Canal in Paddington Central.

Situated directly outside Paddington Station are floating pieces of art, designed exclusively by the British pop artist, Sir Peter Blake.

Darcie Green provides the perfect setting for canal side dining, serving Aussie brunches, healthy lunches and relaxing dinners.

You can get everything from a fancy bacon and banana bread sandwich to avocado on charcoal sourdough with creamy labneh.

May Green opens from the early hours of the morning (perfectly executed flat whites and banana bread) to the late hours of the evening (buzzing bar with nine local craft beers on tap and live music).

The Darcie & May Green barges are at Grand Union Canal, Sheldon Square, Central W2 6DS
