100 miles of Summer walkies

Will you walk a 100 miles with me for Paws for Prevention?

Everyday, our hoomans take us out for Walkies. They do that so we get to stretch our legs, enjoy the outdoors and have our daily dose of exercise to keep fit.

At the same time it is also good exercise for the hoomans. Walking it is a good thing because they say over 25% of breast cancer cases may be preventable through increasing your level of exercise.

And now we can give back to our hoomans and help them to eradicate a terrible disease as Breast Cancer UK has launched a summer fundraising campaign – Paws for Prevention, challenging hoomans to walk their dogs for at least 45 mins a day for 45 days to raise money for breast cancer prevention.

Why 45? By walking 45 mins a day people will easily hit the recommended 150 mins per week exercise which can help reduce their risk of breast cancer by up to 30%.

When? Supporters can take part for any 45 consecutive days over the summer.

Paws for Prevention is a summer dog walking challenge that Breast Cancer UK is running to help raise vital funds needed to allow us to continue conducting our programme of critical animal free scientific research into the causes of breast cancer, a disease that affects 54,700 women a year. Over 25% of breast cancer cases may be preventable through simple lifestyle changes such as increasing your level of exercise. We also know that dogs need exercise too and that is why we are running this challenge. We are asking people to take on the challenge to walk their dogs for 45 minutes a day for 45 days and raise money for breast cancer prevention, because 45 minutes of moderate exercise a day can help reduce your risk of breast cancer. By walking 45 minutes a day for 45 days you will walk 100 miles!
