Two lakes, two towns, two countries in one day

We woke up to raindrops on the window and thought – what a bummer!  We had a day trip planned to go to Como (Italy) and Lugano (Switzerland)
img_7517We still went ahead in hope that the rain would eventually stop.  We crossed the borders at Chiasso and the rain did stop – thankfully.

We walked around the medieval township of Como, though the winding streets.img_7547 And visited the Duomo of Comoimg_7553 This is the side of the Duomoimg_7555 Tourists were taking photos of all things – including a water tap.img_7556We walked back to the Piazza just in time and to the parking place before the rain came again.img_7558As we got into the car to drive back to Switzerland the skies opened and the rain came down hard! img_7559 Phew! That was close!

By the time we arrived back in Lugano – 20 minutes later, there was no more rain. In fact the sun even came out for many photo ops!img_7615Mummy and I walked along the lakeside till we reached the park at the end of the walk.img_7617Before we turned back into the town centre to check out the shops.

When, whoa! What’s that? Did a giant Cinderella leave a shoe?img_7619It sure was scary for me.  We checked out many shops and Mummy was looking for a gelateria or somewhere nice to sit and have a coffee when we stumbled upon a pet shop. img_7623And that was how the day ended – for me!

It wasn’t just two lakes, two towns, two countries – it was also two experiences for me – all in one day!

May’s comment: Really enjoyed checking out Lugano.  It had always sounded so familiar because I had friends who lived there but now I’ve finally visited.img_7600
