A New Season

A new look with new attitude and renewed passion.

We’re not sure when that will happen again but a good boucle ‘Chanel‘ jacket is timeless.

We hope you’ll continue to enjoy our stories – that part of the website hasn’t changed.

May’s comment: A much needed makeover. It wasn’t a vanity project by any chance. I didn’t have that on my lockdown list of things to do but alarm bells were ringing loud and clear. All the backend features were being erratic! It was time to succumb to the demands of social media.

This is work in progress and I am sure with technology, there will be glitches and needs refining – so please, bear with us and let us know if you find anything that doesn’t work.

For those of you who are new to us, this blog began more than seven years ago, just when Darcy turned two. I reckoned then that she had enough life experiences to share, coupled with my love for writing to start a blog. The main ambition was to encourage people to live their every day lives with their dogs. You see, I had the worser case of ‘separation anxiety.’ Though she didn’t like being left, Darcy hand managed. I, on the other hand was racing home from cinemas when the credits rolled, excused myself early from dinners just to get home – not so much for the love of my dog but because I was afraid she would bark and annoy the neighbours. But she never did. She sat by the baby-gate and waited and waited.

Then one day I took the situation at hand and went walking down King’s Road to every shop and asked if I could bring in a dog – and to my surprise – most of them welcomed us inside. From then on, I only shopped at places that were dog-friendly and wanted to let other dog owners know it is acceptable. We moved on to new challenges – dining at dog-friendly restaurants and cafes – and we complied a list and over time that the list grew and grew! That was nine years ago – and things have changed significantly especially in the last five years.

Then I searched for ways to take her with me on my travels, though a lot more inconvenient and meant I explored more city parks rather than museums, I was happier for it.

Our blog stories are personal experiences. These are our adventures, our life stories. We happily share products, services and places that we love. Infrequently we may like a request to collaborate because we believe in them, but we stuck with authenticity rather than to commercialise.

Of course there are days when I doubt myself. Why am I doing this? – with no financial gain and oh so very time consuming. It’s rewarding for a moment to receive some unknown ‘industry award’, but that is no reason for pouring hours into it. But when a blog post evoked an emotion and made someone’s day – I am back hacking away on the computer. YOUR responses to our story-telling revive the love of writing – and the reason we keep at it.

Thank you for all who have journeyed with us all these years – and we hope we will continue to do so for many more. I hope this new format will make it more enjoyable and easier to read. And my tech friend will finally stop getting the heebee-jeebees whenever he looked at the previous website.
