A Staycation in Belgravia

We often drive past this lonely green dog chained to a yellow bench on Pont Street. Have you seen it?

So we decided to say hello to the green dog and stayed a little while.

And that’s where we were for our latest dog staycation – at The Hari. We’ve been here before but never stayed.

Checking in, we were immediately warmly greeted.

We couldn’t wait to check out the latest hotel room!

And I think it easily passed Mum’s test! And yes, we liked the bed.

And look! They had pressies for all three of us!

The Hari is in Belgravia, on the edge of Chelsea, close to some of our favourite places – whether it is shopping on Sloane Street or dining at nearby Motcomb Street where The Pantechnicon is – remember our matcha shortbread from Cafe Kitsune, dining at Eldr Roof Garden and of course dining outdoors at Motcombs (no one could confirm if we are allowed to dine inside) and one of our all time favourite gastro pub, Alfred Tennyson.

Due to Covid, a lot of the places have outdoor seating and we could have enjoyed a few others where dogs are not usually allowed inside. But we hadn’t the time as we had an appointment at the nearby Anya Hindmarsh’s The Village – more about this later.

And we met up with Mac, Maisy and Freddie at Anya Cafe. Again, more about this later as there’s so much to write about all the fun cakes and biscuits that we found here.

Back at the hotel, the only place where dogs were not allowed was the main restaurant, but we could otherwise dine anywhere …

Shall we go to the Bar Lounge?

Again, greeted with much fuss.

This looks pretty good to us. We had the whole place to ourselves.

Every time we do a staycation, we experience the neighbourhood and we see it at different times of the day. We wouldn’t normally be walking in the night around the quiet residential streets of Belgravia and then coming back to The Hari.

It was also a very warm Summer night, Mum was so happy that we were in an air-conditioned room!

The next morning, we awoke to the sunrise.

All too soon it was time to go home. I think we can truly say, we enjoyed our all too short staycation. Mum loved the hotel decor, loved being able to dine with us in the bar lounge or on the terrace. We loved our pressies from Mungo & Maud and we loved that it was so close to some of our favourite places in London.

May’s comment: We have driven by The Hari so often and we have dined at the restaurant when it was under a different management. Since it changed hands, we haven’t been back. It so happened that we had an appointment at the nearby Anya Hindmarsh’s Village last Saturday and took the opportunity to do a staycation nearby.

The Hari is a stylish retreat in the heart of Belgravia. Designed for those seeking comfort and understated elegance, The Hari is a sanctuary for modern travellers and connoisseurs of luxury.

I love hotels that inspire me with design, always taking notes about the decor.

They were extremely welcoming with the pooches. All their staff would stop to greet them. The only place where we’re not allowed was their restaurant. However, we could dine with pooches in the comfort of the stylish Hari Bar

or elegant Garden Terrace, serving a delicious all day dining menu with classic and creative cocktails.

Bordering the areas of Chelsea, Kensington and Knightsbridge, Sloane Street shopping is just steps away – and almost all the shops are dog-friendly. Other London’s leading attractions though not dog-friendly can also be found a short walk from the hotel – Harrods, Buckingham Palace, The Royal Albert Hall, and more.
